Warrington Market is still open but is operating reduced opening hours.

Some traders are open for people to buy essential food items, 9am – 2pm, Monday to Saturday.

These include:

  • Andrew’s Fish, Game and Poultry
  • John Cross & Sons Butchers
  • Singletons
  • V Reardon & Sons Fish
  • Warrington Fruit and Veg
  • Yates Greer Pork Butchers
  • Yo Thai Asian supermarket
  • Zak’s Pet Stop, for pet food supply

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and the government’s decision for people to stay at home, traders will remain in the temporary market building as the new market opening – due to take place in April – has been postponed.

The situation will be kept under review as the safety of our traders and customers is paramount. Residents should only leave their homes to shop for essential items, as infrequently as possible, in line with the clear national guidance.

Deputy Leader, Cllr Cathy Mitchell, said: “We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for supporting Warrington Market and our local independent traders during this challenging and unprecedented time.

“I’d also like to express my thanks to the traders who are continuing to offer essential produce for our shoppers, ensuring there is food available for people, particularly our most vulnerable, during these uncertain times.

“We will continue to support the community by keeping the market open for as long as we are able to. We will continue to review the situation and will of course keep you updated if things change.”
