Budding social care specialists will have the chance to find out all about the profession as part of a roadshow in the town centre.
Current care staff that work in and around Warrington will be coming to Golden Square to share their stories and offer advice to the next generation of social care professionals.
Cllr Rebecca Knowles, cabinet member for adult social care, explained: “A career in social care could be for you, regardless of if you have worked for a long time in other roles and want a new challenge, or if you are taking the first steps in your work life.
“The impact carers have in helping people to remain as independent as possible in their own homes cannot be underestimated. Day-to-day tasks that most of us will take for granted, like getting dressed or going to the shops, can be a real challenge for some people who may need a helping hand.
“A career in care could be for you, even if it’s part time or seasonal. Previous experience isn’t essential and all the necessary training is provided, free of charge. All you need is compassion, understanding, patience and a willingness to learn. It takes a special, selfless type of person to become a carer but it’s a brilliantly rewarding vocation for those who share the belief that other people matter.”
